BARRED FROM NUMEROUS GOVERNMENTAL COMPUTER NETWORKS FOR TELLING THE TRUTH
CUTTING DOWN THE MANGROVES
THIS SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THE PLAN ALL ALONG

A couple days ago the Miami Herald ran a story with photos that showed Key Biscayne Mayor Mayra Lindsay standing on a strip of land just West of the Miami Marine Stadium that had been stripped of foliage and mangroves.

From the prospective of Key Biscayne, the act of illegally cutting down and removing these mangroves supported their larger claim that the City of Miami - who they are currently suing over the efforts of the City to allow the Miami Boat Show to use the marine Stadium property as one of their exhibit areas - cannot be trusted to keep their word, or obey the law.

Given the history of what has happened in Regaladoland since I’ve been writing this blog, that’s pretty much become part of the standard operating procedure of how the City of Miami does business.

But, in this case, the removal of the foliage and mangroves from the piece of land just West of the Stadium was a goal that the Friends Of The marine Stadium also supported, and that they included in the renderings of the property that they presented to the Miami City Commission as part of their ill-conceived deal to turn the property into a cash cow.

Below are several renderings from the Proposal that the Friends Of The marine Stadium submitted to the City last November. I have highlighted the portion of land in question.  No one at the time ever raised the most miniscule of concern over these rendering clearly pointed to a removal of the mangroves.

This is just speculation on my part, but I suspect that these renderings served as a guide for folks in the City, when it came to deciding on how to deal with this property, and that the removal of the mangroves was far from an innocent mistake.

History provides numerous reasons of why you really can’t trust the City of Miami, and the notion that the City os prepared to float bonds for $16 million dollars to fix up the parking lot so that the Miami Boat Show might end up only using it for a couple years before going back to the Miami Beach Convention Center so make people ask, who’s going to make money from the Bond sale.

It’s always Miami, bitches!!!
