A couple days ago, Eddward Prince, who I wrote about in my first story about this problem railroad crossing, managed to download and post a cellphone video on YouTube that he had made of the FEC Police arresting a trespasser.

The arrest occurred on NW 1st Avenue and 17th Street.

Imagine if you will, a white, middle-class person being treated this way for walking across a railroad track.

PART II

In fact, I’ve been told that there are sections of track north of downtown where people cross all the time and not once has anyone ever been ticketed, or arrested for doing so.

I think that the Miami City Commission, always so eager to jump up and shout about abuses in Cuba and Venezuela needs to jump up and shout about these kinds of abuses being perpetrated on the poor citizens of Miami who are just trying to get from point A to point B without having to walk over a half mile out of their way.

For a change, it’d be nice to see the City Commission show some indignation over the way that local folks are treated.
