A Crespogram reader just sent me a glaring example of why the City of Miami gets their brains beat out every time they do a deal that involves complicated contracts and dealing with outside lawyers.

Below is the City of Miami’s signature page for the Bayside Marketplace, Skyrise Contract.  Check out the name of the City Attorney.  Her real name is VICTORIA MENDEZ, NOT VERONICA MENDEZ!

Truly, I’m no rocket scientist and I make my share of spelling mistakes, but there were supposedly a room full of city lawyers going over this contract, and if not one of them caught the fact that their boss’s name was wrong. This is not only embarrassing, but what else have they managed to miss, or overlook?

This is just another glaring example of why you can’t trust these people to look out for the public’s interest, above and beyond the obvious political skull duggery that goes on with every deal the City’s involved in.

ANOTHER BAD DEAL FOR MIAMI
WHEN THE CITY’S ATTORNEYS CAN’T EVEN CATCH A MISSPELLING OF THEIR BOSS’S NAME, WHAT ARE THE ODDS THAT THEY MANAGED NOT TO CATCH OTHER MISTAKES?
