ANOTHER BAD DEAL FOR MIAMI
CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE ALLOWS BERKOWITZ AND BAYSIDE LAWYERS TO INTERVENE, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY RULED AGAINST CHARLES CORDA’S REQUEST FOR AN INJUNCTION. CASE NOW AT 3RD DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL
PART XVI

At an early morning hearing Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Jorge Cueto today allowed the attorneys representing Bayside Marketplace and Skyrise Miami to intervene on behalf of their clients, and then reading from an opinion written before the hearing started he ruled against Coconut Grove architect Charles Corda’s request for an injunction on allowing both a contract extension for Bayside Marketplace and the construction of Skyrise Miami to go before the voters as part of a single  Referendum question.

The hearing lasted less than 9 minutes, and is presented below in its entirety.  Below the video are the documents filed this morning by Corda with the 3rd District  Court of Appeals.

Given that there were 9 lawyers in the room ready to oppose Corda’s request for an injunction had it come to that, and given that there will be that many, if not more lawyers involved in representing Bayside Marketplace, Skyrise Miami and the City of Miami in the appeal, I am asking all of you Crespogram readers who care about justice and fair play, and who might know a lawyer with appellate experience if you would reach out to them and see if they might be able to provide Charlie some guidance and help.

Thank you.
