CRESPOGRAM REPORT

BARRED FROM NUMEROUS GOVERNMENTAL COMPUTER NETWORKS FOR TELLING THE TRUTH
COMMISSIONER “ETHICS” SARNOFF
HE LOVES RECEIVING SWAG, BUT DOESN’T
LIKE TO REPORT IT

My favorite Miami City Commissioner loves his swag.

Every once in a while you see photos of the Commissioner and his lovely wife at some gala event, and you just know that someone slipped him the tickets.

In fact, it was just last month that Marc and Teresa were the Event Chairs at that pricey fundraiser for the Republican Governor’s Association where the four Event Vice Chair couples forked over $50,000 each to rub shoulders with Mitt Romney and Governor Rick Scott.

You can bet that Marc and Teresa didn’t pony up a penny to be designated Event Chairs.  No sir, that was swag, pure and simple.  Just like that $23,739.00 junket to China that Marc and Teresa got from the Chinese government.

And let’s not forget the other pricey junket to Brazil that Marc and Teresa went on in 2012 that resulted in my filing an ethics complaint.  The Ethics Commission found Probable Cause in that case, and then Sarnoff’s lawyer, John Delagloria managed to get Michael Murawski to let him come back and reargue the case on 3 separate occasions in an effort to get the words “Probable Cause” removed from the Letter of Instruction that the Commission issued.  THREE TIMES!!!

Life has been good for Sarnoff ever since he bamboozled his way into being the District II Commissioner.  He gets $104,000 a year from the city for part time work, he gets chauffeured around town in a city SUV driven by a Police Sergeant-At-Arms, he gets to pretend he’s a local Master of the Universe, and best of all people give him stuff.

In this instance, the stuff was a very nice photograph of the Everglades, and, in the usual Sarnoff fashion, he took the gift and didn’t bother to report it on a quarterly Form 9.

Now of course, Sarnoff isn’t the only mooch in the City of Miami that regularly gets swag and refuses to report it.  Just last week the Ethics Commission determined that His Ignorance, Mayor Tomas Regalado took a trip to Argentina with his daughter last year and didn’t report it, but then  the Commission turned around and dismissed my complaint because the Mayor claimed he got bad advise from the City Attorney’s office.

Today, my latest Ethics Complaint has to do with that nice photo that CNB bank gave to the Commissioner back in 2011. Yep, you guessed it, he never bothered to report the photo as a gift.

The Ethics Commission has demonstrated that they’re capable of some pretty amazing slight of hand tricks when it comes to providing cover for folks like Sarnoff, so it will be interesting to see how they handle this complaint.

The odds are that if Commission “Advocate” Michael Murawski isn’t able to find a way to kill this before it gets in front of the Commission, then Commission member Kerry Rosenthal - he’s the one who served 5 illegal terms as the Commission’s Chairman, and is also the attorney for Tibor Hollo who is a Sarnoff patron - will weigh in with one of his now patented defense of public officials unfairly being put upon rebuttals against any punitive action being taken.

It’s all a show at the Ethics Commission, and unfortunately the end result at most meetings is that the public gets screwed and the Commissioners  make sure that the folks on the Family and Friends Plan walk out cleansed of their unfortunate errors of judgement.

It’s Miami, Bitches!
