TROLLING FOR THE CUBAN VOTE
THE MAYOR HAS BEEN OUT AND ABOUT VISITING THE NURSING HOMES AND ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES TO GET “HIS PEEPLES” TO VOTE FOR BAYSIDE AND SKYRISE

When it comes to getting something underhanded approved by the voters of Miami, an off-year primary election is the next best thing to being able to stuff the ballot boxes.

Miami’s voters have never been overly smart when it comes to who they elected to office; often time in the last 20 years, all you needed was the ability to speak Spanish, have a Latin last name, be able to invoke a hatred of Fidel Castro in your campaign stump speech and know how to drive from one nursing home or assisted living facility to another within the “Magic City.” It also helped if your Daddy or Granddaddy had been a crooked politician under any of the dictators before Castro took over.

The primary election next week doesn’t have any candidates running for office in the City of Miami, but it does have 3 Referendums that are supported by the Mayor and the 5 Dwarfs on the City Commission.

Now, I haven’t been able to uncover any major activity involving the production of video footage like was done last year when the fight to get the referendum on the Grove Harbour deal that had the City’s Communication’s Department produce - on the taxpayer dime - a video that was purposely created and repurposed for use by the developers.  The chief schemer behind that deal was our pal, Commissioner Marc “The Lying Weasel Dick Sociopath” Sarnoff.

This time, given the historically low turnout of voters who show up for these off-year primaries, the Mayor seems to be the one one who got the short straw, and has been out making sure all of his loyal followers do as he tells them.

The only piece of campaign literature that’s been discovered by Crespogram readers has been this Spanish 2/sided flyer.

Notice all that fancy new retail space that’s going to be built facing the boulevard, and the Skyrise Tower, which if it were really proportional would be about 4 times higher that it is represented in the rendering.

There are more than a few people who are against this Skyrise Tower, but

unless the 3rd DCA rules in Charles Corda’s favor, the little old abuelitas will carry the day, because in Miami a birthday cake, a domino table or a little party in the Recreation Room of one of these nursing homes or assisted living facilities is the best exercise of democracy that money can buy.
