YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP
Daily Business Review writer Eleazar Melendez reported on Wednesday night that Federico Couple, the Vice President and CFO of the corporation EXPO-Miami, LLC, the company that Manny Alonso Poch formed specifically to be part of the Miami Marine Stadium development deal, filed for bankruptcy in October after years “of fighting off mortgage, credit card, business and other personal creditors in court.”

The efforts by the supporters of the effort to get the City to give the Friends Of Miami Marine Stadium a long-term contract by claiming that the stigma associated with having Manny Alonso Poch being part of the deal was removed because he supposedly disassociated himself from the corporation, now have to come to grips with the reality that Alonso Poch left behind an even bigger problem in Federico Coupe.

EXPO-Miami, LLC, is an entity that cannot be allowed to continue to be part of any deal involving city property, and that in turn should finally convince everyone that the Friends of Miami Marine Stadium have shown gross incompetence and a lack of due diligence that cannot be denied or ignored.

This deal cannot go forward under any circumstances, and the Miami City Commission needs to tell the Friends of Miami Marine Stadium that in good faith, they were given 2 years as well as support and assistance from the City, and that these revelations can only be seen as examples of the kind of incompetent leadership that would continue if they were ever given a long-term contract to manage the Stadium site!

It’s time to re-think this deal, without the participation of the Friends Of Miami Marine Stadium. They were given a golden opportunity and blew it, big time!
